Since there are now hundreds of easily accessible books
in the family room, I thought I'd look for something to read.
Unfortunately for me, 99% of those books are of the Sci-Fi or Fantasy
genre. This is not a necessarily a bad thing, but does pose some
problems if I feel like reading anything other than those two genres. I settled on a book called "Abduction",
by Robin Cook. It reads a lot like a Star Trek (The original series)
episode where everyone is beautiful and perfect, and goes around
wearing togas. The ending reminded me a whole lot of a Choose Your Own Adventure story. That's not to say "Abduction" a bad book, but it did have me rolling my eyes more than a few times.
Why am I mentioning this book? It's because the Hollow Earth theory features prominently, which is one of the theories involving the mysterious Island in Lost. I know, I know. I'm obsessed. It's the only show I watch though, so please forgive me. Agartha is the name of the land of a highly advanced society that lives in the Earth's Core. Shambhala (one of many spellings) is believed to be the capital city of Agartha. The song "Shambala" by Three Dog Night was played during the scene where Hurley and Sawyer were driving around in the old Dharma VW bus on Lost. Anyway, my point is not to get into theories about Lost, but to have an excuse to play the song. Enjoy. :-)
Here's the link to watch Lost online. I know what I'll be doing for the next couple of hours. :-)
If I'm not able to find Lost to watch over the Internet, I guess I can get a prescription for Losticil:
Season 4 of Lost starts this Thursday. Too bad we don't have cable anymore... never got it hooked up after the move and decided it was nice not to have the damned thing on all the time. Besides we have over 700 DVDs, so there's always something to watch! I need to figure out how to hook up some rabbit ears (do they even make those anymore?) to the old TV set. For now, enjoy some silliness!
