Okay, I guess it's pretty obvious I have a thing for SpongeBob, heh. If you go to Sporepedia, you'll notice that there are almost 2 million Spore creatures on there with thousands more being uploaded each day. Way too many to keep up with! Fortunately there are several fansites popping up, like Best Spore Creature. People upload their creatures and we get to vote on them. Just go to the main page and start voting... it's almost as addictive as making the creatures themselves!
Even though I hate EA right now (mainly because of how they mangled The Sims Online), I am looking forward to the "life simulation" game of evolution, Spore, which is due to be released on September 7, 2008. Mary and Jack bought us the Spore Creature Creator because they know how much Maddie likes to make Miis. She's made a pink dragon and a few others so far. Keith made a Trogdor:
We just got back from the Bay Area where we celebrated my brother's wedding. The planned almost a week's worth of activities for their wedding guests including hiking, dancing, and Alcatraz. I got tired just reading through the itinerary! My family hosted the Welcome Barbecue at Tilden Park in Berkeley. It was so beautiful there and the weather was absolutely perfect. I didn't take one picture because Keith and I did all of the setup and grilling. I did however get a really bad sunburn from standing in the direct sun for more than five hours!
The wedding was in Piedmont the next day. Again, the weather was perfect and the ceremony was very touching. Everyone was crying.... even the wedding coordinator! I took lots of pictures since I had a front row seat, but I used my Dad's camera since it was the first one I grabbed. He's going to send me a copy of the pictures, but until then I won't have much to post.
While we were gone Leo got to live it up in one of the Executve Suites at Oxton Kennels, which is part of Vision Quest Ranch and Wild Things. From their website:
Our Executive suites are inclusive of custom plush beds, televisions (tuned to Animal Planet of course), web cams, a room service meal, yappy hour and business walks as needed.
The lady there said that he even had "hottub time," which must have included a bath because he actually smells pretty good. This was Leo's first time in the Executive Suite because that's all they had available. It's pretty silly and a bit excessive because the dogs don't really care, but they do get extra attention and their owners feel better. I never worry when he stays there because I've never seen a facility that takes better care of their animals. It's also fun to see the two reindeer, goats, horses, emus, camel, donkey, and zebra when you drive in.
I was dragged to the theater to see WALL•E on Sunday. I'm so glad I went. It's an excellent movie with an important message. It's cute, funny, and thought-provoking. WALL•Es voice and sounds were created by Ben Burtt, who also did R2-D2's sounds! This song was in the movie:
Does anyone remember this? My whole family used to laugh our heads off (heh) at The Frightened Family!
